Richard Hammond granted a terminally-ill British girl her wish last weekend, giving her a ride in a hot-pink Lamborghini.

According to Yahoo Shine, eight-year-old Emilia Palmer made a wish through the organization Rays of Sunshine (England's equivalent to the Make-a-Wish Foundation) - “I wish I could ride in a pink Lamborghini driven by Richard Hammond.”

Although Emilia has a rare lung condition and relies on supplemental oxygen, she has always dreamed of riding in a Lamborghini with Hammond. Her father said he always taught his daughter that a Lamborghini was the best car.

So, the organization got a hold of a donated Lamborghini, spray-painted it pink, and flew Hammond over on a helicopter, reports Cars UK. Surprised beyond words, Emilia hopped in the front seat of the vehicle with the Top Gear star and a stuffed animal Minnie Mouse before they sped off through the countryside.

Emilia's mother Rachel reported that her daughter was all smiles after her ride with Hammond. “The fact that the wish was turned around so quickly meant that she was still physically able to enjoy it. This was a fantastic day that we will all remember as a family,” she said. “It’s not until something awful happens that you get to find out how kind people can be.”

Emilia wasn't the only one who was affected by the outing – Hammond enjoyed their time together as well. “It was a real privilege to be asked to make a contribution to such an inspiring, positive, unique and uplifting occasion,” he said. “Emilia was charming and wonderful. There was every chance she could have been shy, but she chatted nonstop. It is truly inspiring how brave people are.”

Now, Emilia awaits a response to determine whether she is a candidate for a lung transplant, which could add up to ten years to her life.
