Rosie O’Donnell is weighing in on the Miley Cyrus controversy, saying the 20-year-old “Wrecking Ball” singer is too young to be this involved with fame.

The former View co-host said in a new interview that Cyrus is “still a kid” and worries about her well-being.

"Fame is a toxic and lethal drug and most adults can't handle it. Now, give it to a child and they're going have some turbulent adolescent years and 20 years old, to me, she's still a kid. She's not even legal yet," she told Access.

When she was told X Factor creator Simon Cowell called Cyrus a mastermind when it comes to marketing, O’Donnell, 51, replied, “I worry more about her longevity in terms of health and happiness than whether or not she's the flavor of the week.”

O’Donnell, who will guest star on ABC Family’s The Fosters in its second season, said last month, "Whether it's Britney [Spears] or Lindsay [Lohan] or now Miley, I'm always rooting for them and always hoping that they find a safe harbor."
