NBA player Ryan Anderson has said he plans to open a foundation in honor of Gia Allemand.
In August, former Bachelor contestant Gia Allemand attempted to commit suicide. She later died after being in critical condition and on life support at the hospital.
Anderson was the one who found Allemand after she had tried to hang herself.
TMZ is reporting that the Pelicans player said, "we have a huge plan to do something great in her name that's going to help a lot of people" while at the team's media day on Monday.
Anderson was never specific, but seemed to be talking about depression when he said, "This is a topic that is not talked about enough."
Anderson also commented, that "[e]very day is a challenge," according to Daily Mail. "It helps to be here. My family's with me. To be here with my teammates really helps a lot. But it's a roller coaster. Yeah."
"I praise God every day to have him in my life," the NBA player said. "It would be very very hard to get through these steps if I didn't have him, if I didn't have God and Jesus Christ in my life."
