The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 42-10 on Sunday in front of over 83,000 fans at the famous Wembley Stadium in London. This was the eighth regular season NFL game to take place at Wembley and the second one to take place this season. The 49ers controlled this game from the beginning, scoring the first 28 points of the game. Colin Kaepernick took control of this game early on, with great protection from his offensive line, he was able to pass for 164 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 54 yards and two touchdowns. Frank Gore also added 71 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

It was a different story for the Jacksonville Jaguars, who after making improvements in the games against St. Louis and Denver, continued to take steps back in this game. ESPN reports that Jacksonville was the “home” team, but they had very little to be happy about. The only points in the first half for the Jags came from a 38 yard field goal from Josh Scobee. They trailed 28-3 at the half. They came out in the second half with a few promising drives. The 49ers committed a fumble in their own territory, which allowed Chad Henne to throw a 29 yard touchdown pass to receiver Mike Brown for the Jaguars only touchdown of the game. Henne finished the game 29 of 45 for 228 yards and one touchdown. Jaguars’ running back Maurice Jones-Drew had 19 carries for 75 yards on the ground and Cecil Shorts III was their leading receiver with 7 catches for 74 yards.

The Jaguars are continuing to struggle on both sides of the ball but they are determined to turn things around. The Guardian has comments from Maurice Jones-Drew talking about how this year has not gone how they wanted, but they are going to continue to work hard and turn this team around. There are many that believe head coach Gus Bradley is the right man for this team. He has been praised for re-energizing a team that is rebuilding a new roster. There will be growing pains and they know it will take time, but they are committed to turning this team around. The 49ers improved to 6-2 with the win, while the Jaguars dropped to 0-8. Both teams have a bye week after coming back from London, the Jaguars next game will be November 10th at the Tennessee Titans, while the 49ers will host the Carolina Panthers.
