Max calls a late office meeting at his hotel for his employess where he informs them he accidentally killed a hotel employee. After hearing the employees' responses, he informs them it was a joke and that he doesn't think the office has good team building skills due to their responses.
When Sean goes to Max's office to discuss the inappropriate meeting, he meets Max's father, Lee (Stacy Keach). Max becomes extremely and overly bossy to Sean and tells Sean that the office will be working that weekend. Sean realizes he is trying to impress his father and that Max has a relationship with his father similar to the relationship Sean has with his mother.
Sean's mother stops by the office and criticizes Sean for not being the boss of his company. While there Lorna runs into Lee, where he makes inappropriate sexual comments to her. Lorna lets Lee know how inappropriate he is and refuses his offer for a date. After she leaves Lee asks Sean about Lorna. Sean lies and tells Lee that Lorna is an employee that he will fire. He also tells Lee that he needs to encourage Max more and let him know he is doing a good job. Lee tells Sean if he can get him a date with Lorna he will give Max his approval.
Sean talks Lorna into going on a date with Lee by making a deal with her that he will help her learn how to use her new cell phone, and hoping that Lee will show Max he is proud of him which will lead Max to decide employees will not need to work that weekend. While on his date, Lee delivers a present to Max at the office. Max opens it and realizes it is a plain coffee mug. Max and Sean discuss their problems with their parents being overly critical of them, and after some drinks in Max's office they decide to interrupt Lorna and Lee's date and tell them how they feel.
At the restaurant where Lorna and Lee are having their date, Sean tells Lorna that before his current job, he turned a company around that was on the brink of failure, all while breaking into tears. When it's Max's turn, he backs out and informs his dad that Sean is drunk and he is leaving. Lee expresses to Lorna his pride he had for his son's ability to hold in his emotions, to Max's delight.
At the end of the episode, while Sean is helping Lorna learn how to use her phone, she reveals that although he has been helping her for six hours, she already caught on after the first ten minutes but since she likes spending so much time with him she feigned ignorance of her smartphone knowledge!
