Smash director Michael Morris was caught in a bind over the weekend when pictures surfaced of him kissing Katharine McPhee in Los Angeles. Before they were even published, Morris told his wife, Mary McCormack, that they were about to be in the media and she threw him out immediately.
Morris reportedly tried to keep them from coming out by attempting to buy them, but it ultimately didn’t work because they were published by TMZ.
“Mary threw Michael out of the house on Sunday night when he told her that TMZ had the photos and that they were about to be released,” a source told Page Six.
That wasn’t the only bad news McCormack, who has three kids with Morris, received over the weekend. NBC canceled her series Welcome to the Family after just three weeks.
As for McPhee, she’s also married but she’s been separated from her husband of five years, Nick Cokas, for the past six months.
McPhee, whom Morris directed on the now-canceled Smash, reportedly reunited with Morris in Los Angeles where she moved to start working on her new album.
