Jax and the guys stake out multiple Irish hangouts around town, hoping to catch either Galen or Connor, retaliation for the deaths of Phil and V-Lin. The next morning, Jax and Happy see a van pull up at their location. When the van stops, one man gets out and goes inside the building while the driver stays in the van. Jax pulls their van up beside the other one, and they hold the driver at gun point while Jax goes inside to "talk" to the other Irishman. Jax sees him going for a suitcase, which he thinks belongs to Galen. The Irishman claims he doesn't know where either Galen or Connor are, but quickly rolls on them once Jax pins his hand to the table with a screwdriver. Jax finds out that Galen has left the country, but Connor is still in town, and Jax then finds out his location.
DA Patterson heads to the sheriff's office to see Roosevelt. She wants to know if there's any new intel on the murder of Erin Byrne, the Diosa girl that Toric had killed. She then quickly turns her attention to Nero and where Roosevelt is at with him, and the fire at Gerber's farm, as well as the massive supply of KG-9s that were found there. Patterson also wants to continue to press Tara to get information on the club, even though Roosevelt defends her as not being the bad guy. Patterson settles with using Nero to turn on the club, but Roosevelt still doesn't seem happy about doing it.
Nero goes to meet with Jax at the garage. They're off to Collette's to finalize the deal of their partnership. As they pull out of Teller Morrow, Roosevelt is on their tail. On their ride up to the brothel, Nero asks Jax about the trouble with the Irish. Jax stops him right there, saying that he thought Nero didn't want to be a part of that side of the Sons' business. Nero brings up the KG-9s that the Sons provided his crew, which is turn was used in the school shooting. He thinks both him and Jax are responsible for that shooting, and Jax assures him that all his new deals are going to get them out of that life.
After Jax and Nero head inside Collette's, Roosevelt parks and waits outside. A blacked out BMW pulls up beside him, and when the window rolls down, it's Barasky. He asks Roosevelt what he's doing there, and when Roosevelt won't say what, Barasky offers to call his buddies in the local police department to "help out" in any way they can. Roosevelt leaves, and Barasky doesn't seem to pleased with the extra attention that Jax is bringing to his investment.
Jax and Nero bring Barasky up to speed on what's been going on: Erin's death, the retired US Marshall, everything. They figure it's Erin's death that warranted the tail, and Nero assures Barasky that it's his problem and that he'll take care of it, that it shouldn't affect their business together. Tig, Chibbs, and the guys pull up. Jax leaves to go deal with Connor while Nero invites Barasky and Collette to come check out Diosa, to ease their minds while they see the other side of the operation.
The Sons pull up to the bottling warehouse where Connor was waiting for his ride. Connor begins to walk toward the SUV that Jax and Chibbs took off the Irish, but Connor gets spooked and runs. His men start firing on the Sons. One of Connor's men is killed and another gets away. Happy chases Connor into the warehouse, and it seems like Connor has a step on the Sons, but Jax drives the SUV through the wall and knocks a crate of alcohol bottles into Connor. In the warehouse, the Sons find their stolen guns, but decide to leave them there as a peace offering to Galen. Jax doesn't want war, he just wants to talk to the Irish Kings and settle all this.
The Sons bring Connor and the other Irish up to the reservation. Jax tells Connor that he intends to put him on a plane to Belfast as long as the Kings come to terms. Connor tells Jax how to get a hold of them, and Jax proceeds to call Brendan Roark. Jax explains to Roark and the two other Kings in the room the deal that he offered Galen, but he needed more time to make it work. Jax informs them that Galen didn't want it to work, that he just wanted to continue to do business with Clay, off the books, like they had done in the past without either organization's knowledge. Jax offers them August Marks as a potential distributor, but the Kings are hesitant, knowing that Pope had made his money in heroin, and the fact that he's black.
After Jax hangs up, the camera pulls back to reveal that Galen was sitting at the table the entire time. He denies everything Jax said, and that he believes the key to their Northern California distribution still lies in Clay. Galen tells Roark and the others that he's already reached out to Clay, via the book cart guy in prison, and that things will be settled by the end of the day. Galen tells the others that their history with the Sons is over, and Jax will eventually get what he wants: out of guns and ties with the Irish severed. At the time, it sounded very ominous, and suspicions would soon be realized.
When Jax gets back to the garage, he gets word that Clay's lawyer had called to let them know that Clay set up a conjugal with Gemma. Jax sends Chibbs with Gemma to the prison as an escort.
Tara meets with Lowen at the hospital. Lowen explains to Tara that Toric being dead actually hurts her case rather than helping. With Otto killing Toric, from a legal standpoint, it looks like a pre-meditated kill because Toric was looking into the club. Wendy then bursts into Tara's office, and when Lowen leaves, she tells Tara that she can't take all the lying anymore. Tara tells her to hang in there, now knowing that she's likely going back to prison, and that Wendy will be the one to get the boys out of Charming and safe from the club.
At the prison, Gemma bribes a guard for two minutes with Clay. He tells her that the Irish reached out to him, that they're planning on ambushing his transport to his hearing, and then he could run the distribution from Belfast. He also drops news of Jax wanting to push the guns August's way, which is new to Gemma's ears. Gemma tells Clay about what's happened recently as well, including Phil and V-Lin's deaths. Clay tells Gemma to ask Jax what he wants him to do.
Gemma knocks on the door to leave the conjugal trailer, but two guards come in and say that it's called a conjugal trailer for a reason. One guard says that either Clay has sex with Gemma, or the other guard will. They beat Clay until Gemma tells them to stop. Clay tells Gemma he is genuinely sorry for this. After they're done, Clay says he'll kill both of those guards. Gemma advises him not to, as he won't be any use to the club is he's in solitary.
At Diosa, Gemma has filled Chibbs in on everything Clay and her talked about, minus the forced sex part. Chibbs and Jax head to a secluded room, but before they start talking about what Clay said, Chibbs confronts Jax about what he told the Kings earlier. Chibbs can't believe that he offered them a black partner, a move that the club would have easily voted down knowing how much the Irish don't like anyone who isn't their same color. Chibbs isn't exactly happy with Jax that he's making all the executive decisions on his own. He reiterates that it's not just Jax's club, then tells his president that he shouldn't give up on Clay, that Clay might be the only connection to the Kings they have.
Jax calls up Roark. Roark tells Jax to call him back with a burner at 8pm and to have a full table ready to vote on whatever decision they come to. Jax and the Sons leave, but Gemma stays behind with Nero. He can tell something's off, and she says that she doesn't want to keep things from him. Gemma tells Nero about what happened in the prison.
Back at the garage, Jax and the rest of the club wait for the call from the Irish. With the club still on lockdown, everyone is at the clubhouse. Tara is with Abel and Thomas in Jax's old room, but leaves when Thomas starts to cry so she could let her other son sleep. Nero drives up to drop Gemma off, and she makes him promise not to bring what she told him to Jax. Shortly after Nero pulled up, Roosevelt pulls in behind him. The DNA had come in from Nero's truck, and it seemed like Roosevelt was there to make an arrest. Unser goes outside to see what's up while the Sons begin to head into chapel to take the call.
Jax sees a pen that Unser left behind. It has shamrocks all over it. Jax asks Chuckie where it came from. Chuckie says the delivery guy who brought the beer left it. Chibbs and Jax both realize what about to happen, and yell for everyone to get out of the clubhouse as fast as they can. Jax runs back to the bedroom to get his sleeping son. Chibbs waits for Jax, then they both bolt out of the clubhouse. Just as they clear the exit, Teller Morrow goes up in flames. Everyone's whole, for now, but it seems the war Jax didn't want showed up anyway.
