Soulja Boy is being sued for an alleged hit-and-run accident involving his Bentley and a motorcyclist.
According to TMZ, Soulja Boy wasn't even driving the vehicle – his friend Abrahim Mustafa had borrowed his Bentley to drive through Los Angeles. When Mustafa hit a motorcycle, throwing the rider, Gabor Turi, off his bike, he sped off without stopping. Turi fractured his right shoulder, injured his knee and foot and experienced severe lacerations as well as several other injuries. He may require even more surgery.
Although Soulja Boy wasn't even in the car at the time of the hit-and-run, he is still fully responsible by California law for the damages since he gave his friend permission to drive his Bentley.
Radar Online reports that Soulja Boy is being charged with negligence, asking for money to cover the medical expenses and other damages.
Turi’s attorney, Larry Nagelberg of the Nagelberg Bernard Law Group, Inc., said of the lawsuit, “It is unfortunate that we live in a time where young, rich celebrities are indulged to such excess that many think they are above the law. Society at large is now struggling with, as some put it, ‘The Bieber Effect,’ and it is crucial that society take a stand, as failure to do so will only lead to more egregious and dangerous behavior, and to more threats against persons or property.”
