Owen Wilson and Rene Balcer are developing WonderWorld, a FBI drama, for Starz.
Starz has set its sights on WonderWorld to add to the premium cable network's aim to have 75 hours of original content over the next few years, notes The Hollywood Reporter.
The drama will be set in the 1980s and focus on two straight-laced FBI agents who are assigned the task of infiltrating the porn industry while it's violently controlled by the Mob.
Balcer will serve triple duty as the script writer, executive producer and showrunner. The show will be produced by Regina Lee as part of Wilson's production company's new TV arm. Fred Berner, who worked with Balcer on Law & Order and Law & Order: Criminal Intent, will also be an executive producer.
Berner recently worked with Starz on Magic City, which was cancelled after two seasons.
Starz has other original content on its way out, like the upcoming Black Sails by Michael Bay. Black Sails hasn't even premiered yet and it already has received a second season.
The Bay-produced series follows Captain Flint two years before Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island.
