The world is a wide web and the head honchos of Comcast may have figured out how to keep up with the ever evolving trends in technology.
Old meets new this week when the cable service provider announced that they will team up with social media site Twitter to broadcast some of the shows that appear on Comcast-owned networks. NBC will be the first to debut shows via tweets according to USA Today.
See It, as the new feature will be called will allow viewers to set their DVR, change channels and watch their favorite shows such as The Voice by clicking on a tweet from Comcast that will open a screen to view the show. Viewers must be subscribed to the cable service provider, Comcast in order to take advantage of the See It function.
Other companies owned by Comcast/NBC include USA and E! according to NYTimes.com> and will be included in the See It a program described by Comcast chief executive, Brian Roberts as “a simple yet powerful feature that creates an instant online remote control.”
The See It function will be available to Comcast subscribers starting in November.
