The Timberwolves and Celtics traveled to Montreal for a preseason matchup. Kevin Love led the Timberwolves to a 104-89 win over Boston.

Kevin Love had 22 points and nine rebounds as his point guard Ricky Rubio had a game high seven assists. According to NESN.com the Wolves controlled the boards, winning the battle 54-40. The Celtics only shot 38 percent but only turned it over 11 times.

Montreal Gazette reports that newly acquired Gerals Wallace was the leading scorer for the Celtics with 16. Three of his teammates were also in double figures as Jeff Green had 12, Avery Bradley had 11, and Brandon Bass had 10.

Celtics rookie head coach Brad Stevens had this to say after the game:

“They’re a good basketball team and we stayed with them for a while and then we didn’t,” Stevens said. “I thought we had some success, but we had trouble controlling (Ricky) Rubio.”

Along with his seven assists, Rubio also had 15 points. offense came from all over for Minnesota as Kevin Martin had 21 and Nikola Pekovic had 12.
