TLC members, Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins went on New York’s hip-hop station, Power 1051 and sat down with the morning show, “The Breakfast Club” to talk about the Vh1 movie, CrazySexyCoolCool , their careers, new music and some of their past incidents that made news. They specifically addressed the situation with their former manager, Pebbles.
According to Rolling Out, the group spoke about how Pebbles cheated them out of their money and it led to their bankruptcy. The group went diamond( 10 million copies sold) with their sophomore album,Crazy Sexy Cool, but had to file for bankruptcy. They even accused of Pebbles of not letting them see their contracts and get their fair share of revenue.
During the interview, one of the hosts of “The Breakfast Club,” DJ Envy said, “I hate Pebbles and LA Reid, like if I see them, I might trip them. If you didn’t know, LA Reid and Pebbles raped TLC.”
Then they were asked if the portrayal of Pebbles in the movie is accurate and they responded that it was actually “calmed down.”
T-Boz did give Pebbles credit by saying, “I will say she did do some good for us. She put us together, she taught us some things.”
The group members also revealed that Pebbles doesn’t own the name TLC anymore and they had to buy the name from her for a million dollars a letter.
Pebbles didn’t like what the girls said in the interview or how the movie portrayed her, so she went on her Twitter to defend herself. “I’m not here to promote something I put on the MAP and yet have been disrespected by because of more reasons than one! Lawyers on deck. I would say being lied on 4 as long & trying to continue to is sadder. It’s not good what they played a part of it but it will be dealt with now that the slander continues. TLC without me? No way.”
T-Boz also revealed that Pebbles threatened to sue them if she doesn’t like how she is portrayed in the movie.
