Halloween night is quickly approaching, and while for kids that means dressing up and walking around the neighborhood getting candy, for adults it means sitting at the front door and handing it out. Dealing with trick or treaters can be terrific or terrifying, depending on whether you’re the cool house with all of the decorations and the awesome give aways, or the house that gives out boxes of raisins every year. While I’ll leave the decoration ideas up to you, if you want to make sure that your house is the go to destination for trick or treaters this year, look no further than this list to find out all of the best candy options. So drop the popcorn balls, put away the bags of baby carrots, and go buy some treats that are sure to keep you from getting tricked.

10. Juice Boxes: Juice boxes are nice because they’re different. After walking around eating candy all night, kids are thirsty, and giving them a water bottle or a juice box will e greatly appreciated by both children and parents.

9. Stickers and temporary tattoos: These are cool any other time of the year, but on Halloween, kids are looking for one thing— candy.

8. Toys: Similarly to stickers and temporary tattoos, small toys like bubbles and Hot Wheels are definitely cool, but the kids are always looking for candy.

7. Candy Corn: Candy corn is pure sugar, so kids are sure to love it. Put out a big bowl with a scooper and let kids take what they want. It’s very cheap, so you should be able to get a lot, even if you’re on a budget.

6. Fun-Sized Candies: Fun-sized candies are definitely nice, but since every other house on the block will be handing them out, they’re hardly impressive.

5. Baked Goods: You don’t have to make them yourself, but handing out some Entemenn’s donuts or PopTarts will be a great change of pace for the trick or treaters.

4. Chips: Variety packs with thirty or forty bags of chips are usually pretty cheap, and it gives kids a bunch of fun options to choose from.

3. Gift Bags: If you have some extra time on your hands, buy some fun-sized candies, make some cookies, and create Halloween gift bags for the kids. Add in some stickers, temporary tattoos, or crayons and put it all in small Halloween themed plastic bags to hand out.

2. Make your own Gift Bags: Although gift bags are exciting, there are always a couple candies that kids don’t like. If you want your house to be really exciting, put out a few bowls of different candies and toys, and let kids choose what they want for their own gift bags!

1. King Sized Candy Bars: Nothing beats the house that gives out king sized candy bars. It’s not cheap, but it’ll make you the most popular house in town.
