ABC could not keep Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on top for the second week in a row. The highly buzzed show lost a third of its premiere audience, falling behind NBC’s The Voice and CBS’ NCIS. NBC and CBS split the night, with NBC winning in the key demo, but CBS drew the most viewers as usual.
Starting off over at CBS, the eye network averaged 15.43 million viewers and a 2.7 18-49 rating, notes HitFix. NCIS kicked off the night with another huge showing, drawing 19.33 million viewers and a 3.4 18-49 rating. NCIS: LA followed with 14.79 million viewers and a 2.7 key demo rating, falling behind The Voice in that timeslot. Person of Interest ended the night with 12.16 million viewers and a 2.0.
NBC was powered by The Voice, averaging 12.47 million viewers and a 3.8 18-49 rating. According to TheWrap, the singing competition averaged 14.2 million viewers and a 4.4 18-49 rating. Chicago Fire followed with 9 million viewers and a 2.8 key demo rating.
ABC was in third with 5.49 million viewers and a 1.9 18-49 rating. SHIELD kicked off the night with 8.44 million viewers and a 3.1 18-49 rating. It was down 34 percent from last week’s remarkable debut. Continuing last week’s trend, ABC’s programming after SHIELD bought down its overall numbers. Lucky 7 found a new bottom with 2.8 million viewers and a 0.8 18-49 rating. The network should probably start thinking about other ways to use that timeslot.
Fox’s sitcoms averaged 3.42 million viewers and a 1.5 18-49 rating. As usual, the bright spot was New Girl, which had 3.89 million viewers and a 1.9 18-49 rating.
