Fox easily won Wednesday night thanks for Game One of the 2013 World Series between the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals. CBS also saw a slight tick upwards in the ratings thanks to the 300th episode of CSI.
Game One was up 28 percent from last year's World Series, HitFix reports. Early viewing reports have 12.2 million watching the game, with a 4.1 in the key 18-49 demographic.
CBS trailed Fox for the night and averaged 10.4 million viewers for the night and a 2.4 rating. Survivor was down to a 2.3, which is a series low. Criminal Minds held steady with last week at 2.7 in the rating, while the 300th episode of CSI was up slightly to a rating of 2.1.
The Hollywood Reporter notes ABC seems most affected by the World Series and most of its shows were slightly down for the night. The network averaged 6.95 million viewers and a 2.2 rating in the demo. The Middle dipped to a 2.1 rating, while Back in the Game was a 1.7. Modern Family slipped down to a 3.8 in the 18-49 demo. Rebel Wilson's Super Fun Night actually increased a tenth of a point to a 2.2. Nashville remained at a 2.6 in the demo.
NBC also similarly was down, except for a single program. The network averaged 4.8 million viewers and a 1.2 in the demo. Law & Order: SUV fell to a 1.4. Ironside's episode fell further to a 0.8 for the night. Revolution managed to stay at a steady 1.4 for the night.
The CW averaged 3.2 million viewers and a 0.8 demo rating for the night between the network's two show. Arrow was down to 0.9 and The Tomorrow People fell to 0.6.
