Glee's Thursday night Cory Monteith tribute episode saw the show's best ratings in over a year.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Glee drew 7.4 million viewers in for the tribute episode with a 2.8 rating among the 18-49 demographic. These numbers were the best for Fox's show since last year, and was up 40 percent from the premiere.
Fox's only other show for the night only drew in a 1.9 rating and 6.29 million viewers.
Thursday night also saw the season premiere of ABC's Once Upon A Time start the show off weakly in the 8 p.m. time slot. The show brought in 5.7 million viewers and only a 1.7 in the demo. With Glee as its competition, Grey's Anatomy slipped slightly for the night with 8.72 million viewers and a 2.8 rating. Scandal dropped 14 percent, but still brought it strong numbers at 8.99 million viewers and a 3.1 in the demo.
NBC's Thursday night lineup did not fare well, The Hollywood Reporter notes.
Welcome to the Family was down 27 percent to 2.5 million viewers and 0.8 in the rating. Sean Saves the World was down even more to 29 percent with 3.3 million viewers and a 1.0 in the demo. The Michael J. Fox keeps falling since its weak premiere, and was also down 29 percent to 3.8 million viewers and a 1.2. Parks and Recreation, however remaining stead with 3.2 million viewers and a 1.2 rating.
CBS' comedies did fairly well for the evening, with The Big Bang Theory easily winning the night with a 4.9 rating and 17.2 million viewers. Everything else saw small drops, such as The Millers, down 6 percent, to 11.9 million and a 3.1 in the demo. Robin Williams' The Crazy Ones dropped to a 2.4 rating and 9.9 million viewers. Elementary fell 5 percent to 8.9 million viewers and a 1.9 rating.
The CW saw 2.5 million viewers and a 1.1 rating for The Vampire Diaries, down from the previous week.
