Wayne Newton's yacht mysteriously sunk in the Lake Mead Mariana Friday while he was out on vacation.

According to TMZ, the 65-foot yacht is completely immersed under water except for the bow, due to what seems to be an equipment malfunction. Authorities are continuing to investigate the mysterious sinking. The Park Service will attempt to surface the boat later this week so investigation can begin. After inspecting the water around the yacht, it doesn't appear that fuel or any other contaminants are leaking from the boat.

ABC News reports that no one was aboard the Rendezvous, which is what Newton calls his yacht, at the time.

Newton's sister-in-law, Tricia McCrone, told officials that the 1996 Skipperliner is indeed the Las Vegas performer's boat, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “It’s a gorgeous boat, just gorgeous,” McCrone said of the four-level, 60-ton yacht. “It’s heartbreaking.”

This is just another issue on a string of financial problems for Newton. Last year, the “Danke Schon” singer was sued by an ex-business partner when their plans to convert his former home into a museum didn't work out.
