Yoko Ono is grateful for Paul McCartney’s comments that he’s willing to make peace with her following years of tension. John Lennon’s widow said in a new interview she feels “thankful.”
"I never felt too bad about Paul," Ono told The AP on Wednesday. "He was my husband's partner and they did a great job and all that. They seemed to have a lot of fun, and I respected that."
Responding to McCartney’s comments that Ono is “bada--,” she responded, "Well, he's a rocker.”
McCartney, who’s still making music, told Rolling Stone, “I thought, ‘If John loved her, there’s got to be something.’ He’s not stupid. It’s like, what are you going to do? Are you going to hold a grudge you never really had?”
He also said fellow Beatle George Harrison helped him realize he should let go of the resentment he placed on Ono for allegedly breaking up the Beatles. He said in 2012, “She certainly didn’t break the group up, the group was breaking up. I don’t think you can blame her for anything.”
McCartney and Ono previously disagreed over song credits after Lennon's death.
