As Caroline and Max steal dishes from the diner, Han catches them red-handed. The waitresses explain how messy it is at home and Oleg suggests hiring a cleaning lady.
Earl puts his two cents in the matter by saying that his grandmother cleaned free of charge, but she didn’t exactly have a say in that case.
Caroline thinks to call Sophie to ask for her cleaning services.
The next day Caroline rushes Max out of their apartment because it’s cleaning etiquette to leave the home before the cleaning individual arrives.
Caroline reminisces about her old life as a wealthy girl going to spin class before the cleaning lady would come and says that Caroline and Max will instead watch the guy who just got of prison do pull-ups on the light post.
“Calvin’s out?” Max says excitedly. But then she says she wants to stay to watch the cleaning lady clean up her mess.
Sophie knocks on the door to introduce Paulina, a woman with a missing arm. Paulina doesn’t mind that Sophie talks about Paulina’s missing arm even though Caroline seems to think it’s rude.
Then, Sophie talks about losing her earring in the garbage disposal. Sophie points at Paulina to indicate that she doesn’t want to lose her arm like Paulina had.
When Max asks Paulina how did she lose her arm, Sophie is quick to squash the chitchat before revealing that she was the one who ran over Paulina’s arm.
Paulina wants to start cleaning the bedroom first. Max warns Paulina to not even think about stealing her jewelry and displays her string of bracelets on her arm.
“I’m jealous. I don’t have arm to wear cheap jewelry,” Paulina quips.
Cleaning Max’s room, Paulina attempts to lift Max’s mattress with the help of Caroline to discover a stash of porn magazines underneath.
“Ah, porno. Your mind is as dirty as your apartment,” says Paulina.
Caroline also discovers a pastry school brochure along with the stash. Max runs out embarrassed.
Caroline later finds Max at the back of the diner closet brushing her teeth with alcohol. Although Caroline tells Max that the $3,000 tuition to pastry school is doable, Max says otherwise.
Caroline drags Max to the pastry school to get an application. There, they meet the chef, who encourages Max to apply by submitting a tart. Because the chef happens to be good-looking, Caroline flirts with him.
Thinking that she has this in the bag, Max leaves the pastry school with the assumption that she could bake the tart like nobody’s business.
However, when the time comes to make the tart, Max is frazzled. Will the tart score some brownie points with the handsome chef?
