Shonda Rhimes, the creator of ABC’s hit dramas Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy, will be writing a memoir for Simon & Schuster. The book will be out in 2015.

The book, which is currently untitled, will focus on how Rhimes handled her family before fame and how she has since learned to balance her professional life and family life, reports TheWrap.

“Simon & Schuster is crazy for giving me a book deal as I am clearly in no position to be handing out wisdom,” Rhimes said in a statement. “But I have made a lot of mistakes as a single mother and as a working mother and as a sleepless mother and as a dating mother. And I did all of it while running a bunch of TV shows. So I'm going to write about that and hope my kids don't use it against me in therapy later.”

Although this is Rhimes’ first memoir, she previously collaborated on the Scholastic book The Princess Diaries 2, Royal Engagement: Movie Scrapbook with Meg Cabot. Rhimes also co-wrote that film, which starred Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews.

Rhimes has three adopted children and they live in Los Angeles. She’s known as the first African-American woman to create a Top 10 network series thanks to Grey’s Anatomy, which is still on air. The medial drama also inspired the spin-off Private Practice. In 2012, Scandal launched and is in its third season.
