The Green Bay Packers quarterback is eyeing a return to the playing field before the team’s Thanksgiving matchup against the Detroit Lions.

During his weekly “The Aaron Rodgers Show” on ESPN Radio Tuesday, the quarterback said he had a return date in mind. When asked specifically if that date was Nov. 28 for the Thanksgiving game, Rodgers said he would like to get back even sooner.

“I would like to be back this week,” he said. “Now, whether that’s realistic or not remains to be seen. I would never rule myself out on a Tuesday. Now, Mike [McCarthy] probably already has, I think.”

Rodgers also noted that he is now able to sleep through the night and dress himself without being in an "extreme amount of pain" since he fractured his collarbone in a game against the Chicago Bears.

According to NBC Sports, the 29-year-old has hinted that he is shooting for the Nov. 24 game against the Minnesota Vikings, which would be 20 days after he suffered the injury.

Rodgers sat out last week and watched his backup Seneca Wallace get hurt before third-string quarterback Scott Tolzien stepped in. Green Bay eventually lost 27-13 to the Philadelphia Eagles.

If the Packers want to have any realistic chance at making the playoffs they need to start winning games, with or without Rodgers at the helm.
