Genevieve Sabourin, the Canadian actress who allegedly stalked former 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin has been convicted by a judge in New York this morning. She was sentenced to six months in jail.

The case went to court this week, with Baldwin himself taking the stand, denying that he ever had a relationship with Sabourin. She claimed she wanted “closure” from their relationship, but Baldwin accused her of stalking and harassing both him and his wife, Hilaria.

Martin Bregman, a former friend of Baldwin’s and a producer, told reporters outside the court that Baldwin was the one lying.

While the trial continued, Sabourin continued to interrupt the proceedings, claiming that as a French-Canadian, she was having trouble understanding what overs were saying. The judge didn’t buy it and sentenced her to 30 days in jail for contempt of court.

Today, Sabourin was much calmer, obviously having learned her lesson. According to The Associated Press, Judge Robert Mandelbaum found her guilty and gave her a six-month jail sentence.

“I haven't done anything wrong. I'm innocent,” she said after he read his verdict. “You're doing a mistake right now."

“Your relentless and escalating campaign of threats and in-person appearances in private spaces served at a minimum to harass, annoy and alarm Mr. Baldwin, and intentionally so, and terrorized his wife,” Mandelbaum told her.

Baldwin and Sabourin only agreed that they met in 2000 while making a movie together. They met for dinner 10 years later in New York and Sabourin claimed that the night ended with sex, which Baldwin denies. He claims she started sending him emails and trying to get in contact continuously and that she even showed up to one of Hilaria’s yoga classes.

Baldwin said he did send friendly messages, but told her repeatedly to leave him alone. She disagrees, saying that he promised her a relationship. Sabourin’s case began when she was arrested in April 2012 for trying to get into his apartment.
