AMC is sticking with Hell on Wheels, the network’s Western drama and is giving the show’s producers three more episodes to work with for its fourth season.

Hell on Wheels underwent significant changes for its third season, with creators Joe and Tony Gayton no longer staying on as showrunners. They were replaced by John Shiban, who will be back for season four, confirms The Hollywood Reporter.

The network also made the daring move by scheduling it on Saturday nights, a historically tough night for any show, especially one on cable. However, as Entertainment Weekly reports, the show still averaged 3.3 million viewers during its third season. The show aired after a day of Western classic films.

“[Showrunner] John Wirth and his team on both sides of the camera delivered a remarkable third season and Hell On Wheels fans responded,” Charlie Collier, AMC president, said in a statement. “We are so proud of this show and congratulate everyone who has contributed to its success.”

Hell on Wheels stars Anson Mount and Common. Since the show was renewed, it guarantees AMC another returning show after Breaking Bad’s departure. The network will also be seeing the end of Mad Men in 2015. The Walking Dead was also renewed for a fifth season and is getting a spin-off.
