Oscar winning actress Anjelica Huston is Hollywood royalty, as both her grandfather and father were key parts of several classic American films. She has written a memoir about her life and famous family, the first part of which hits stores this week.
A Story Lately Told: Coming of Age in Ireland, London and New York is the first half of Huston’s book and was published by Simon & Schuster. The book doesn’t cover her relationship with Jack Nicholson, which she is saving for later, she told CBS News.
“He's a fascinating man and people like to know details,” she said. “Men love Jack almost as much as women love Jack.”
Huston also took the opportunity to talk about her mother, who rarely gets talked about, since people are more fascinated by her father, director John Huston, and her grandfather, Walter Huston.
“She was incredibly beautiful. She was an ex-ballerina,” Huston said. “One of the pleasures of writing this book was talking about my mother, because my dad gets a lot of attention and my mother really deserved it. She was incredibly special, very beloved to me and I lost her early. So it's important to me to be able to talk about her.”
Huston also appeared on CBS’ Sunday Morning and said she likes being a member of that famous family. “I always felt like it was my right, and it was my birthright and it was who I was,” she said.
While her relationship with Nicholson is missing, The Daily Mail reports that Huston recalled several other affairs, including one with photographer Bob Richardson. She was 18 and he was 42 when they met in 1969 on the set of John Huston’s A Walk with Love and Death. She also wrote about having her heart broken by British actor James Fox.
Huston was recently on NBC’s Smash and won her Oscar for Prizzi’s Honor, a film that starred Nicholson and was directed by her father.
