Justin Bieber has been down under in Australia finishing up his ‘Believe’ world tour. Recently, he decided to paint some graffiti on the outer walls of his Gold Coast hotel. The hotel is saying that they welcome it but city officials want the graffiti gone and are threatening legal action if that is what it takes to have the law obeyed.
The story was originally broke by TMZ, who caught a video of Justin Bieber painting ugly monsters on the hotel walls. TMZ reports that a representative from the hotel sees the graffiti as a plus for both the hotel and Bieber fans.” It was a coup for the hotel to have Justin want to paint a piece of art in appreciation of his stay,” an unnamed rep said. “This piece of art is now available to be viewed by fans of the artist and we believe that it is a wonderful addition to the colourful Gold Coast arts scene."
The Gold Coast City Council sees the situation differently. They have a no tolerance law and want the graffiti down. According to
entertainmentwise.com an unnamed Gold Coast spokesperson, ““The city has a zero tolerance approach to graffiti. The mayor will contact the hotel to say that if Justin Bieber does not want to use the free graffiti removal kit left with him, then the hotel is expected to use it…If not, we will send council compliance officers to ensure the mess is taken care of.”
