Bill Cosby is itching to return to TV and is aiming to develop a new family sitcom, one similar to sitcoms of old.

Cosby spoke with Yahoo TV where he admitted that he was developing a new sitcom.

Cosby is teaming up with The Cosby Show executive producer Tom Werner to create a comedy that "would [satisfy] the people who have come to me in public places and said, 'Can't you put something on that I can watch?'"

The 76-year-old said, "I want to be able to deliver a wonderful show to [a] network." Cosby added, "Because there is a viewership out there that wants to see comedy, and warmth, and love, and surprise, and cleverness without going into the party attitude."

Cosby did say that while he wants to develop a new TV show, it would not be a remake of The Cosby Show.

According to TheWrap, Cosby said that people "would like to see a married couple that acts like they love each other, warts and all, children who respect the parenting and the comedy of people who make mistakes. Warmth and forgiveness."

Cosby will return to TV for a Nov. 23 Comedy Central standup, titled Far From Finished. Yahoo notes that Cosby also is working on an update of his animated show Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids.
