The Rev. Billy Graham, who just celebrated his 95th birthday, has been hospitalized for respiratory problems.
Mark DeMoss, a family spokesman told NBC Charlotte affiliate WCNC that Graham was taken to an Asheville, North Carolina hospital Tuesday. The spokesman said it was similar to a previous issue from a few weeks ago and he should be back home in a matter of days.
“Mr. Graham is in the hospital with a respiratory congestion issue, similar to what he had a few weeks ago,” DeMoss told the site. “As was the case then, we expect he will be able to return home in a day or two.”
Graham turned 95 on Nov. 7 and his family hosted an all-star tribute to him at the Grove Park Inn. There, celebrities like Sarah Palin, Donald Trump and Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren gathered to see Graham.
He is no longer able to speak to crowds and could not go up to the dais at the event, but he still gave his final sermon through a video that will be screened in churches across the country. “Our country's in great need of a spiritual awakening,” Graham said in the video. “There have been times that I've wept as I've gone from city to city and I've seen how far people have wandered from God.”
