Sports director Paul Gerke did sports news completely in the character of Ron Burgundy from Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy on Boise's KIVI.

According to the Daily Mail, Gerke managed to stay in character the whole time, nicely imitating the cult movie character for Halloween.

Gerke started off the newscast by looking off screen and commenting, "I had ribs for lunch, that's why I'm doing this."

When commenting on Boise State not being in the AP top 25 preseason poll for basketball, the newscaster commented, "please tell me this is some kind of sick and tasteless joke."

He also slipped in a quick segue about the Dodge Durango while talking about a sports team, referencing Burgundy appearing in recent commercials. Throughout his reporting, you can hear Gerke's co-anchors doing their best not to laugh too loudly as he continues on as Burgundy.

The new Dodge commercials feature Will Ferrell in the character of Burgundy as he attempts to sell viewers on the Dodge Durango while sounding goofy.

The Dodge commercials help pull double duty as an ad and increase interest in the upcoming sequel.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is out in theaters in December.
