The Emmy award winning actress Anna Gunn of Breaking Bad is reportedly scheduled to guest star on FOX’s hit series The Mindy Project. E! News reports that Gunn will play Mindy Lahiri’s girl crush, and professional hero Sheila Hamilton. Gunn’s character Sheila, will play an OB/GYN that treats New York City’s elite. According to, Inquistr in the episode, Dr. Lahiri refers dreamily to the doctor as “The Tory Burch of OB/GYNs.”
The Mindy Project often features huge celebrity guest stars such as James Franco, and Ellie Kemper, so the casting is not much of a surprise. On the show, Mindy Lahiri is extremely obsessed with all things pop culture, and Breaking Bad has been alluded to on more than one occasion in the series.
The comedic series will feature Gunn in the 13th episode of the season, where Sheila will try to pry Mindy from the paws of Danny and the rest of Shulman & Associates. Mindy is of course starstruck by the attention of her idol but will she make the move from her beloved co-workers? We’ll have to wait to see.
The Mindy Project airs on FOX at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.
