Legendary NFL quarterback Brett Favre has two daughters - Brittany and Breleigh. Favre recently revealed that if he did have a son, he probably wouldn't want him playing football.

The former quarterback sat down with Matt Lauer on NBC's Today Show in an interview Monday to talk football.

"If I had a son, I would be real leery of him playing [football]," Favre revealed. "In some respects, I'm almost glad I don't have a son because of the pressures he would face. Also the physical toll that it could possibly take on him, not to mention if he never made it, he's gonna be a failure in everyone's eyes. But more the physical toll that it could take."

Favre is speaking from experience, as he took more sacks than anyone in league history at 525. With all the hits the 44-year-old has taken through the years, he has experienced memory loss and can't even remember his youngest daughter ever playing soccer.

When Lauer asked if football was the reason for this loss of memory, Favre replied, "I can’t say for certain. I would assume so, and I think most people would assume. But I’ve got to believe that after 20 years, and if you go back, I played four years in college and played every game and then in high school, the toll has got to be pretty high.”

Yahoo Sports reports that a few of Favre's successes included a selection in 11 Pro Bowls over 20 years in the NFL, a Super Bowl win in 1996 with the Green Bay Packers and 297 consecutive starts.
