The illustrious 9 Mile actress passed away in 2009 at age 29, followed five months later by her husband, Simon Monjack. Murphy's death was initially attributed to pneumonia and anemia, yet when Monjack died of the same causes mere months afterwards, Angelo Bertolotti ( Murphy's father) was determined to find the truth in his daughter's death.
Bertolotti sued to acquire samples of Murphy's hair and tissue samples, taking the specimens for testing to Seilheimer's private laboratory. The tests came back positive for toxins, leading Seilhimer's lab to believe Murphy and Monjack were poisoned, "[by] a third party perpetrator with likely criminal intent." according to The Wrap
Murphy's body suffered from astronomical levels of aluminum, manganese, barium, and other metals; her symptoms (coughing, dizziness, headache, cramps, tremors, wheezing, congestion, and disorientation) are concurrent with rat poisoning.
