The game was delayed nearly two hours due to heavy rain and took overtime to get a winner, but Robbie Gould kicked a 38-yard field goal in the mud to lift the Bears over the Ravens, 23-20.
The conditions on the field were definitely not ideal for a game-winning kick, according to the Chicago kicker.
"It's definitely tough," Gould said. "You have to manage it. You shorten your steps. Make sure you play it where you're supposed to play it. I tried to play off the right upright. The ball was probably moving about a half (of) a goal post. That one, I think, moved 2 inches."
Baltimore's Justin Tucker sent the game to OT with a game-tying 21-yard field goal with only three seconds remaining in regulation, according to Baltimore Sun. Tucker also hit a 52-yarder early in the game before the delay took place with just under five minutes left in the opening quarter.
The Bears tried to stay loose and focused on the task at hand during the 1 hour 53 minute delay.
"Closed my eyes and just trying to think about the game, visualize the game a little bit and kind of assess what happened the first two series," said Chicago quarter back Josh McCown. "What did we do wrong? Why weren't we moving the ball? What are they going to do to us?"
