Last month, Chris Brown voluntarily checked into rehab to deal with his anger management issues for three months, but he left 16 days later. Now, after a court appearance today, he has been ordered to go back and this time, for the full three months.
Before today’s hearing, TMZ reported that during those 16 days, Brown threw and broke objects during violent rages and that the district attorney would bring up these instances during the hearing. The site’s sources said that management wanted Brown out of the facility, which is the reason he left so suddenly. The DA was hoping that incidents like these would sway the judge to revoke Brown’s probation and sentence him to jail.
Instead, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin ordered him to go to rehab for three months, reports The Associated Press. He will have to take drug tests and also has to complete 24 hours of community service a week.
Brown, 24, has been on probation for his 2009 attack of ex-girlfriend Rihanna. He could also be found in violation of his parole for his October arrest in Washington D.C., where he allegedly punched a man.
The singer will head back to court on Dec. 16.
