Courtney Stodden and her husband Doug Hutchison have confirmed rumors that they’re splitting after nearly three years of marriage.
Stodden made headlines when she married the much older Green Mile actor at the age of 16. Now 19, she’s ready to “explore her independence.” Hutchison, 53, “supports Courtney 100%,” said their rep in a statement.
"As you know, Courtney was married at a young age. Now, at nineteen, she's interested in exploring life as an unmarried single young adult—with the freedom to explore her independence,” a rep told Daily Mail.
Stodden recently appeared on Celebrity Big Brother UK and flirted with fellow housemate Mario Falcone.
“Doug supports Courtney 100 per cent. The two will share custody of their precious pup, Dourtney, remain living in the same house [for now] in separate bedrooms, and Doug will be co-managing Courtney’s career,” the statement continued, adding they “love each other very much.”
Stodden was asked by E! News around their 2-year anniversary what she would say to those who think their marriage wouldn’t last because of their age difference, she said "Nobody can predict the future."
She recently threw a Halloween party at the home they share together in the Hollywood Hills but he wasn’t there.
