Glee star Amber Riley never thought she'd make it this far on Dancing with the Stars.
The actress revealed to People that, “In the beginning, like when we did the jive, there were times we would run through the dance and after we were done I would literally just lay on the ground." However, back at the season premiere, she told US Weekly that, "Glee is more grueling [than] DWTS. Trust me."
No matter how well-prepared Riley was for the competition, she reported that she is “genuinely shocked I am doing as well as I am. But I'm the type of person that if I feel something is going to defeat me, I am going to want to do it [even more]."
Indeed, Riley has been dancing through a knee injury, and is still scoring nearly perfect marks despite her pain.
Advancing to the top seven teams has inspired her fans to take dance lessons and exercise classes. "It is awesome that people are so touched by me just dancing on a television show," said Riley. "This is just something I did for fun, and it is helping a lot of people."
