The Knicks just couldn't seem to stop Danny Green as he had 24 points and 10 rebounds in the Spurs blowout win in New York.
The Spurs improve to a 6-1 start, but Gregg Popovich still isn't satisfied with the Spurs Western Conference leading start to the season. He claims the team is playing B- or C+ basketball, and that they are winning games due to "good fortune" and "corporate knowledge" ESPN reports. He also attributed the wins to the fact that the Spurs roster is "older than dirt."
After his team's 30 point win over the Knicks, Popovich was slightly more pleased with their play.
"I thought tonight we played a good, solid B+, A- game," Popovich said. "There were some good things out there."
Danny Green was a problem for the Knicks in this one. He was on fire, as according to NY Daily News he had 13 points alone in a 7:00 stretch to start the third quarter. He had only hit six of his last 30 three point shots coming into the game, then made six on the night.
“It was great for his confidence,” Tim Duncan said of Green. “He’s been kind of up and down this entire season. To have him start like that and have a great game here in New York, it’s big for him. And it’s big for us.”
The Knicks fall to a sub par 2-4 start, and are 1-3 at the Garden.
