David and Victoria Beckham are among celebrities aiding those hit by typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
The celebrity couple is selling their own clothes to raise money for the people of the Philippines, reported People.
The Beckham’s are teaming up with the British Red Cross to aid them in helping those devastated by the typhoon reported BBC News.
The sale began on Friday and has been a success, Laura Hicks from the British Red Cross spoke to People “It has been a crazy day. We’ve had massive queues. People were lining up around two-and-a-half hours before we opened [at 11:00 a.m.]. Hundreds of people showed up …Everything was sold by 5 p.m.”
Mark Astarita, the charity’s director, expressed gratitude for the Beckham’s donation and what it will do for the people in the Philippines. “One of Victoria's dresses will buy 50 blankets; one of David's suits will buy 14 tarpaulins. It really can make a difference to people in the Philippines."
Some people are getting designer clothes and items at great prices, but are also in saving lives in the process.
The former Spice Girls star has been tweeting about the sale since it began on Friday. She tweeted a picture of her surrounded by a box of clothes and a mountain of shoes that would be for sale. Her last tweet thanked those for coming out and buying the items.
