International sensation David Guetta is on a mission to help out typhoon victims in the Philippines and he’s using the power of music and Twitter to assist him in his efforts. Guetta has recently teamed up with officials from the United Nations and he will be releasing a new song titled “One Voice,” to help service victims of the disaster. Both groups are collaborating by social media to help develop awareness and treat victims of the Haiyan typhoon which has left a nation in ruins.

The movement involves using the hashtag system in Twitter to help spread awareness. Simply by adding one word after the hashtag “#theworldneedsmore,” Twitter users are able to spread news about the disaster but also contribute a $1 donation from participating sponsors. Guetta’s own sponsorship will add $1 after the hashtag “#love” has been been added.

According to the 3 News Headlines in New Zealand, Guetta says,” I wanted to find a way for people to help using the power of social media and my network. Life has to continue for everyone, even when a catastrophe happens, but there is a way to help and to better prepare for the next one.”

The same way #theworldneedsmore #love, I think it’s fair to say that the world could always use another David Guetta.
