Diane Disney Miller, the daughter of Walt Disney, has died at age 79.

According to The Los Angeles Times, Miller died Tuesday at her Napa, California home from complications of a fall. Richard Greene, a family friend and Disney biographer, confirmed the news.

Miller was born on Dec. 18, 1933 in Los Angeles to Disney and his wife, Lillian Disney. She grew up at a time for great growth for her father’s studio, as it became one of the top companies in the business.

She will be remembered for her philanthropic work. She helped the Los Angeles Philharmonic get a new home after her mother donated $50 million to the project in 1987 and it stalled. Miller came in 1997 to show support for architect Frank Gehry in the hopes of getting the concert hall completed.

For Disney fans, Miller was a champion of her father’s work, often appearing in introductions for home video releases. In fact, she will appear on the new Jungle Book Blu-ray.

In a 2012 interview with the Huffington Post, she said that her father would be pleased with the current state of animation, even if it is mostly computer generated.

“Oh, he'd be delighted,” she said. “Anything that he could use in any way, he would reach out and grab it. He'd love all these guys at Pixar, he'd love it.”
