Comedy website, Funny or Die, is making the transition from online to television. Funny or Die will be taking on its first TV documentary series.
Variety reported that the sports docu-series is set to air on Discovery Channel sometime in 2014. The show will be an hour-long and will feature strength and conditioning coach Mike Barwis. Barwis will train a new different pro athlete in each episode.
Barwis has trained more than 500 Olympic and professional athletes. Before Barwis started working out of his own shop, he worked for the University of Michigan and West Virginia University, added Deadline.com.
The first episode has already been completed and seven more episodes are in preproduction.
The series will be taking place in Detroit, Michigan, which is home to the Barwis Methods Training Center.
Brothers Mike and Chris Farah are creators and executive producers, and Rebecca Mayer will also executive produce. Anna Wenger and Joe Farrell are co-executive producers.
No word yet on when the show will air on the Discovery Channel.
