Will Ferrell, as his Anchorman character Ron Burgundy, appeared on Conan on Wednesday night and sang his “dear friend” Rob Ford a re-election campaign theme song.

Burgundy talked about the disgraced Toronto mayor, saying "I hold him in the highest regard. He is the best.”

The fictionary news anchor then went on to sing the 1980 Calgary hi “Workin’ for the Weekend” complete with a flute solo.

Yahoo Canada notes Ford wasn’t embarrassed by the segment, instead he tweeted the link to Burgundy’s appearance to his followers.

“Good morning Toronto. I had to laugh at my friend Ron Burgundy & his take on my 2014 re-election campaign song,” he wrote on Thursday.

Ford received some backlash for posting that, such as “was your account hacked? No one in their right mind would post that....oh, there's my answer,” and “the world is laughing at you not with you .”

Over the weekend, Ford spoke with both CNN and Fox News after a city council voted to remove some of his political powers.

Anchorman 2 hits theaters Dec. 20.
