Evan Rachel Wood opened up about becoming a mother for the first time at a screening of her film Charlie Countryman on Wednesday in New York City.

The actress, 26, who welcomed a son with husband Jamie Bell in July, said she had “separation anxiety” while being away from him.

"I’ve been having separation anxiety because I’m so used to him being right here all the time," she told Us Weekly, pointing to her chest. “"They kind of become a part of you, you know? It was my dream to be a mom, so I'm loving it. I love it."

She said he’s been “smiling and laughing. He started rolling over. He’s grabbing things. You know, he’s making oohs and aahs."

Wood stars opposite Shia LaBeouf in the new film, in which she plays the Romanian love interest.

She called herself “lucky” to be able to take a break and enjoy motherhood saying, "I had done three films and got pregnant so I was like, 'I’ve got stuff in the can. I’m taking a break!'"

Little details were known when Wood gave birth but she did tweet back in January when announcing her pregnancy “Thanks for all your warm wishes. We are very happy. I’m gonna be a mama!”
