Fred Durst is currently developing an hour-long drama series for the CW based upon experiences in his life.
TV Guide exclusively reported the news. Durst will co-executive produce with Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum. Miles Feld will write the script.
The show will be about a young musician in the 1990s as he rises to fame by forming a band with a unique sound, after escaping a poor home life.
Since Durst's band largely fell off the radar, the nu-metal singer has been focusing on TV and movies, E! News reports. This will also be the second time Durst will have a shown based around his life developed.
He worked with CBS on a sitcom, called Douchebag about a musical artist trying to find balance between his outlandish behavior and his family. Though that clearly went nowhere.
He also has directed two independent films The Education of Charlie Banks, which starred Jesse Eisenberg, and The Longshots with Ice Cube.
Durst is best known for being obnoxious and his nu-metal band Limp Bizkit, which had a string of hits, including "Faith," "Nookie" and "Rollin." The band is still around and are expected to release a new album in January 2014.
