George Zimmerman has been arrested in Florida on Monday after police received a disturbance call. No additional details have been released as of yet.
The Seminole County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that “deputies responded to a disturbance call” and Zimmerman was taken to the county correctional facility in Apopka, Florida, according to CNN.
This isn’t Zimmerman’s first run-in with the law since being acquitted on murder charges in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
His wife, Shellie, filed for divorce in September and told ABC’s Good Morning America at the time she thought he felt “invincible” after getting acquitted of murder.
“I stood by my husband through everything, and I kind of feel like he left me with a bunch of broken glass that I'm supposed to now assemble and make a life," she said, adding, "It's just heartbreaking."
He was detained that same month when Shellie placed a frantic 911 call claiming he threatened both herself and her father.
Sheriff Don Eslinger told The Orlando Sentinel that Zimmerman was arrested at 1pm today. More details will be released later today.
