Hugh Jackman was revealed that he’s been diagnosed with skin cancer, and he’s using it as a forum to remind his fans to take the proper precautions in the sun.
The Les Miserables star took to Instagram to show a photo of himself with his nose bandaged up and said his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, urged him to go to the doctor.
“Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy, was she right! I had a basil cell carcinoma. Please don't be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And USE sunscreen!!!” he wrote.
Page Six notes that Jackman’s type of cancer looks like a lump, either pale or red in color. It isn’t considered highly dangerous; but it’s still cancer nonetheless.
Jackman will likely need surgery to get basil cell carcinoma treated. If he did not catch it, it wouldn’t spread other places but would damage the surrounding tissue on his face, The BBC notes.
Jackman is in talks for the third Wolverine film and he will also be seen in the upcoming Chappie with Sigourney Weaver.
