Jay Z is set to release a new men's fragrance, called "Gold," on Nov. 20.
The 43-year-old rapper is releasing "Gold" exclusively through Barneys in New York before it goes on sale everywhere else, ContactMusic reports. "Gold" will then be sold internationally in 2014.
"Gold" comes in white fougere bottles, which were created by Ilias Ermenidis of Firmenrich. Naturally, Jay Z's name is written across the bottle. The men's fragrance will come in three bottle sizes and cost between $39 and $70. There are also plans to have the fragrance come in a gift set with deorderant and shower gel.
According to Elle, the rapper rejected 3,200 names before finally settling on "Gold."
Donal J. Loftus, executive vice president of Perfumia, which is the parent company releasing "Gold," told WWD, that Jay Z finally settled on the name, saying: "This is the s--t; it's gold."
The holiday collaboration was in questioned after it came out that Barneys was being accused of racial profiling, Elle notes. Jay Z said that he wouldn't cancel his plans "without the full facts" of the issue.
Samples of "Gold" will be handed out over Thanksgiving weekend to those waiting in line to buy Broadway tickets.
