Jimmy Kimmel Live is highlighting the hatred of the celebrity Twittersphere once more. The late night host has had countless celebrities showcase the worst of their scathing hate-tweets and on Thursday night’s episode a new set of celebs shared.
In the recent segment, Kimmel addressed the issue that infects almost the entirety of the celebrity population. According to E! Online the host opened the dialogue stating "In general, celebrities get a lot of adulation. People want to take pictures with them, people want to take them on vacation—but for some reason, when it comes to the internet, things can get very ugly. Especially on Twitter.”
Kimmel continued to humanize the hoards of famous faces stating, "I think some people don't know that celebrities actually read the stuff that is written about them. But a lot of them do, and it can be very hurtful."
Kimmel has utilized the popular “Mean Tweet” segment in a variety of ways, even featuring a musical edition according to BuzzFeed. This segment, like the newest features a variety of artists, allowing viewers to truly understand the amount of ridicule on the internet.
The fifth edition of the genius segment included high profile stars such as John Krasinski, Kevin Bacon, Sharon Stone, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Dennis Quaid, Amy Poehler, Aaron Paul and a slew of other stars.
The insults range from physical, performance based, and downright irrelevant jabs from random Twitter users maliciously targeting celebs. The reactions are as priceless as the ridiculous rants these random people posted.
The reoccurring segment ceases to get old and the insults get increasingly vicious. I’m curious to hear the creepy compliments these celebrities also receive on a daily basis. Jimmy Kimmel Live should take note for his next Twitter segment.
