Before performing on his tour in Boston on Sunday night, Kanye West made a stop at the Harvard Graduate School of Design to give an insightful speech.
West, alongside Virgil Abloh, the creative director of Kanye’s DONDA brand, as E! online notes, gave a speech to the students about how important he thinks design really is.
According to a video an audience member posted on Facebook, the rapper said, “I really do believe that the world can be saved through design.”
West then motivated the crowd by stating, “I’ve tasted what it means to create and to be able to impact and affect in a positive way, and I know there is more creativity to happen.”
Abloh tweeted after the event exclaiming, “Just gave a talk at Harvard GSD with Kanye. Super surreal. #DONDA design lecture series #yeezustour.”
West’s famous fiancee, Kim Kardashian, also attended the lecture and took to Instagram to display how proud she was of her man, posting a photo of Kanye speaking with the caption: “My baby speaking at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.”
