Kanye West has launched yet another controversy, this time against fashion house Louis Vuitton. The Yeezus rapper has urged fans to boycott the brand after he was denied a meeting with Vice President Yves Carcelle.
West’s relationship with Louis Vuitton goes as far back as 2003 when he called himself the “Louis Vuitton Don” in College Dropout. He was also seen carrying a bag last month.
He explained what happened on 92.3 NOW radio, saying “What happened was while I was out in Paris I wanted to meet with the head of Louis Vuitton, he said I don't understand why we need to meet with you.”
He continued, “I said, 'let me explain to you why you need to meet with me,’” telling the listeners, “Everybody in New York City right now don't buy any Louis Vuitton until after January.”
“Now do you want to meet with me? Now do you want to meet with me? Influence. They think that I don't realize my power,” he also said, Entertainmentwise reports.
Furthermore, West explained that his 5-month-old daughter, North West, was the reason he severed ties with Nike.
He said they did offer him a deal, but "no royalty connected to it. I can't look my daughter in the eyes and say I'm giving the best years of my life in creativity and I see nothing from it,” he said, Marie Claire UK reports.
West is known for speaking his mind, especially in epic Twitter rants. This is just the latest in the rapper’s controversial behavior.
