Katie Couric is negotiating with ABC News to leave the news program as Couric is in talks with Yahoo.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, who first reported the news, Couric is in talks to leave ABC News and head to Yahoo.

Though Couric's show Katie is nearing the end of its second season, Disney-ABC sources said that whether Katie would get renewed wouldn't be discussed until December after November sweeps. Couric's deal with ABC was for two years of Katie and three years total with ABC News, worth a total of $40 million.

ABC News declined to comment, but an executive said, "Katie is an incredible journalist and this was an opportunity that she couldn't pass up. Thanks to the powerful association between ABC News and Yahoo we know that Katie will continue to work closely with us and welcome her on our air anytime.

The Daily Mail reports that the 56-year-old would be going to Yahoo for a new interview show.

A source told the site that negotiations with Yahoo were "ongoing" and "There's a very positive relationship between ABC News and Katie and there will still remain opportunities to collaborate."

There have been rumors of Couric moving to Yahoo after CEO Marissa Mayer was looking into increasing the website's media coverage. Yahoo and ABC also have had a partnership since 2011 revolving around sharing news and producing web videos.
